Hello, and welcome to the March issue of "The Anvil"!

March roars in like a lion, with this month's issue of The Anvil: We have a herd of fanfic and fanart for your safe-keeping, along with some fanmixes and fanvids for your perusal. If the last-snowfalls are keeping you inside, be sure to read about the latest news and fandom chatterings in our community and essay sections, with a good ol' quiz on the side. And once Spring cleaning comes around, be sure to grab a few wallpapers to tidy up.

- The release date of Deathly Hallows will be July 21st, 2007. Confirmed by JKRowling.com on February 1st, 2007.

- JK Rowling updated the diary, rumour, and FAQ sections of her website on February 6th. To view those updates, go here.

- 162_Days is a Livejournal community dedicated to reading one chapter a day of HP until Deathly Hallows is released. If you would like to join in on the discussions, go here. The Deathly Countdown is a similar LJ community, and you can participate in their discussions, here.

- Daniel Radcliffe recieved rave reviews in his preview performances of Equus on London's West End. To view some of his early reviews, go here. On February 27th, Equus officially opened. HPANA has reviews and video of his promotional appearances. To view them, go here.

- Daniel Radcliffe gave an interview to Times Online, which mentions his work on Equus and Harry Potter. To read the interview, go here. - There are new Equus photocall pictures, featuring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths. You can view them over at HPANA, here. Reported by Diagon Alley on February 23rd, 2007.

- Rumors were circulating the internet that Warner Bros. was so displeased with Radcliffe appearing in Equus, that they were considering firing him. However, on February 18th they put out a statement debunking the rumor. To view their statement, go here.

Last month's question was: With the release date of Deathly Hallows just announced, are you excited/nervous/concerned or something else entirely?

myrhlyn: "Personally, I'm unexpectedly excited, and also a bit nervous. I'm excited about the fandom wars possibly ending within the year, but at the same time wondering if this will lead to a very bad ending; not only in the books, but for fandom. If it goes OBHWF in Book 7, fandom might just become unbearable. "

Padfoot: "It's not just that, but the fact that the series will finally be over. There will be a big drop off in fandom in general because with the final ending, there is little to debate anymore and any difference would be decidedly AU. It's like reading a fanfic that claims Sarumon joined Gandalf as a spy for the Fellowship. It just wouldn't fit. Right now we can write stories about how we think the future would hold for the Trio and the rest. But once final is final it's going to be hard to continue. Especially with her Killing off major characters in the end."

AnndeeGranger: "I'm surprisingly indifferent, at least at the moment. I may (probably will) get more excited as the date nears."
