Hello, and welcome to the February issue of "The Anvil"!

Indulge in romance and possibility (eww) in this month's issue of The Anvil: We have some lovely fanfic and fanart for your perusal, along with some fanvids for your pleasure. Once the love potion has worn off, read about the latest news and fandom chatterings in our community and essay sections, along with the exciting beginnings discussed in this month's State of the Project Address. If you can't feel the love, perhaps you'll share some with Alan Rickman and Severus Snape, in this month's quizzes. (They just need some cuddling, honest.)

- Harmony Podcast has a lot of exciting news this month! First off, they are now on the promotional bandwagon for Warner Bros., and will now be recieving news updates from them. So be sure to check the Harmony Podcast website often for the latest in HP news. Also, Harmony Podcast has created a MySpace page. To add them as a friend, go here.

- The Harmony Podcast was updated once this month; on January 30th. You can download podcast #18 here. The transcript is available to read here. HTV was not updated this month. - On February 1st, 2007 it was announced that the release date for Deathly Hallows will be July 21st, 2007. JK Rowling posted the date on her website. To view the announcement yourself, click here.

- The BBC is launching a Hogwarts-style reality show later this year, called The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Children will compete with card and magic tricks, and perform for "magic mentors". For more information on the program, click here. Reported by HPANA on January 25th, 2007.

- DanRadcliffe.com updated its site with promotional pictures of Dan in Equus on January 30th. Harmony Podcast has recieved the photos, and you can view the images in their new gallery, here.

- Subtle Signs is looking for staff to help regularly update the site. For more information and how to apply, go here.

- Know it Alls is a new community for fanfic reccs. They are looking for staff members to help them recc several ships, including H/Hr. If you would like to apply, go here for more information.

- HP Quills for a Cause is an event for fanfic writers and fan artists to raise money through sponsership for AIDS/HIV research. The event will take place February 1st-28th. To learn more about the event, go here.

Last month's question was: Do you think Sirius Black and the veil will be mentioned in Book 7?

myrhlyn: "Personally, I've believed in this theory before the Book 7 title was released. I don't know if tDh is referring to the Veil directly, though - I'm going with "hallow" referring to the horcruxes. But I guess I can see the possibility. I think that it'll tie up loose ends with the death of Sirius, and perhaps bring back the mirror he gave Harry in OotP. Who knows. She didn't really mention Cedric or Sirius in HBP - so why should I believe she'll tie up 'loose ends'? Bah. But I think it would be interesting to mention them again, at least."
