Hello, and welcome to the January issue of "The Anvil"!

Can't find the aspirin? Can't find your wand? Have you already beaten the House Elves for not knowing where either is? - The title of book 7 was revealed behind JKR's website door on December 21st. Visitors played a game of Hangman to figure out the title - which is now officially Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Thanks to HPANA for the report.

- Daniel Radcliffe designed a piece of furniture for the store Habitat; with proceeds going to charity (Demelza House, of course.) Reported by HPANA on December 5th, 2006

- Daniel Radcliffe appeared at the AFI awards December 6th. Dan presented the "'International Award for Best Actor and Actress". You can view video and photos on HPANA, here. Reported by HPANA on December 7th, 2006

- While in Australia for the AFI awards, Dan Radcliffe gave an interview about his films December Boys and Order of the Phoenix. You can find more information on HPANA, here. Reported December 6th, 2006.

- New images are available from the OotP Set. They feature Dan talking to director David Yates. Reported by HPANA on December 14th, 2006

- A new portrait of Daniel Radcliffe is included in Michael Birt's Photographic Exhibition; now showing at Fulham Palace in London. You can view more information about the exhibit here.

- Harmony Fiction has a new challenge up! "Take a Chance" has writers providing the prompts, all for LJ prizes. Deadline is January 14th, and you can enter and read further rules, here.

- The website Sense and Sensibility reopened December 23rd. You can visit the website at www.SenseandSensibility.org.

- Jordan has put out a call for authors and editors for the Book 6 Project. Authors can apply here, and editors/betas can apply here.

Last month's question was: Do you think there's an American wizarding school in the HP world? If so, where would it be located?

myrhlyn: "I don't know if JKR has ever mentioned it, but I found it kinda fishy that in GoF there were only three schools in the TriWizard tournament. What the heck? I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be witches and wizards in the US (or South America and Canada, for that matter)... My guess would be... western Canada, I guess? There's a lot of unused land, out there. Or perhaps in the Andes mountains. "

AnndeeGranger: "There would have to be one. However, considering the size of the Americas there would have to be more than one. The U.S. alone is bigger than Europe and they have three. If we are going by remote areas, the Appalaichas (sp?) would probably be a spot. As would the Southwest (Area 51 anyone?)."

srpalmer: "It is explained that the Triwizard Tournament is organised by the three biggest European schools of wizardry. So there are likely lots more in Europe too. And of course, also in the rest of the world, I guess."
