Hello, and welcome to the July issue of "The Anvil"!

Sunburned? Bored? Wishing you had A/C? Grab yourself an iced tea and join us in our misery, with the latest issue of The Anvil: You can read about the rumors of Book 7 from recent interviews with JKR, in our news section. Or catch-up on some fan-ramblings in community posts and essays; or perhaps with this month's featured Harmonians. If you're hittin' the beach (and for some reason you brought a laptop.. look at you, all beach savvy), you can enjoy some fanfiction or fanart reccs. And while you're at it, perhaps you'll want to read the latest State of the Project Address, for all your Project Harmony and Witherwings.net news. (And trust me, there's been a lot this month.)

- The Harmony Podcast was updated once this month, on June 24th. You can read Podcast #12's transcript here. You can upload the latest podcast on iTunes, or listen to it here. HTV was not updated at all this month, but you can download past episodes here.

- Harmony Forever hosted a contest for a HarmonyCon logo. The deadline was July 1st, 2006. As of this issue's release, we do not know of a winner yet; but the winner will be announced, here.

- FanHistory.com is setting up a Harry Potter Wiki Page. To join in the compilation, go here.

- HBPspork has started posting chapters, and is up to Chapter 23 in discussion. You can view information about the project, here.

- FictionAlley.org is hosting a Summertime Challenge to coincide with the World Cup 2006. You can find rules and details, here.

- Magic Key Fiction is hosting a summer fanfiction contest. All 'ships are welcome, and there are LJ-related prizes. Go here for rules and details. The deadline is July 31st, 2006.

- Essay_Exchange is a new community for Harry Potter essay exchanges; quite like fanfic or art... exchanges. You get the idea. You can join the community, here.

- A preview of a movie poster for Order of the Phoenix has been posted, here. (You'll have to scoll almost half-way down to see it.)

- Highkicker24 is looking for assistant mods in an upcoming (hopefully H/Hr) Harry Potter RPG. If you would like to help out, they ask that you comment, here.

- HPANA has posted a poll - Harry Potter: Wanted Dead or Alive. You can answer the poll, here.

- JK Rowling appeared on the "Richard and Judy Show" in the UK, and announced several things about book 7. You can read the details of her interview over at SnitchSeeker.com, here. (MN and TLC also have transcripts, but we refuse to post those links here.)

- Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, along with GoF, have been nominated for the SyFy Genre Awards. Voting will start July 10th, and you can vote once-a-day for thirty days.

- JK Rowling, Rupert Grint, and Matthew Lewis appeared at the Queen's 80th birthday party June 25th. There was also a video shown of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Matthew Lewis in-character. You can view the video courtesy of DanielRadcliffe.com, here.

- Emma Watson appeared at the 02 Wireless Festival in London on June 23rd. HPANA has photos from the event, here.

- DanielRadcliffe.com along with its UK Site have announced projects to honor Dan's birthday on July 23rd, when he turns 17. They are planning on donations to Dan's favorite charity Demelza House. Go to either site to participate.

Last month's question was: If you were a student at Hogwarts, and you were eligible for the Triwizard tournament - would you have put your name in the goblet? Do you think you would've been chosen? How well would you have performed in the tournament?

myrhlyn: "I'll be the first to admit that not only would I have not been chosen, but if by some bad luck I had, the dragon would've eaten me, instantly. I'm pretty sure I'd be the female equivalent of Neville in something like that - and would've avoided it like the plague."

AnndeeGranger: "I'd want to; and if I was the person I am now... then yes I would. If I were the person I was in high school, no I wouldn't. Regardless, I would not have been chosen; I'm not very athletic."
